Session Title: What’s New in Oracle Database 12c Release 126.96.36.199?
Oracle Database 12c Release 188.8.131.52 is out. This session will explore some of the new capabilities found in this release including In-Memory optimizations, Attribute Clustering and enhancements to Oracle Multitenant.
Session Title: Securing Data in Oracle Database 12c
Oracle Database has a long history of security ‘firsts’. In this session, we’ll take a look at the current state of the art security features to be found in Oracle Database 12c. Both new and old capabilities will be covered.
SQL Plan Management: Finally consistent query performance!
The performance of any database application heavily relies on consistent query execution. While the Oracle Optimizer is perfectly suited to evaluate the best possible plan without any user intervention, a SQL statement’s execution plan can change unexpectedly for a variety of reasons. This potential for change makes even the most experienced DBAs and developers nervous. SQL Plan Management (SPM) offers an ideal solution to this conundrum by preserving the current execution plans amidst environment changes, and only allowing plans to change if it results in improved performance. This presentation will provide a detailed explanation of how SPM works, along with step by step instructions on how to capture your existing execution plans. We will also cover how to test and verify any newly found plans, as well as explaining in detail how SPM interacts with other plan stability features such as SQL profiles, SQL patches and adaptive cursor sharing.
